Wraps

basic_motor

Simple DC motor (train, PF-M) — power only, no encoder.

encoder_motor

Motor with rotary encoder + position/speed loops.

color_sensor

Technic Color Sensor — colour, reflectivity, RGB, HSV.

distance_sensor

Technic Distance Sensor (time-of-flight).

color_distance_sensor

Boost Color & Distance Sensor (legacy WeDo/Boost).

hub_led

RGB LED on a hub’s built-in LED port.

accelerometer

Built-in hub accelerometer (mG).

gyroscope

Built-in hub gyroscope (dps).

port_expander

LPF2 Port Expander accessory. Use getPort() for the sub-ports.

Common methods

Every device wrapper has:

  • getDeviceType() — numeric device type (see lpf2.device_type).

  • name() — human-readable string.

Registering factories

The C++ device factory is auto-registered at module import. registerDefault() re-registers it — useful after a soft reset in a custom build.
